About Piling Jackets

There has never been an easier way to preserve and repair rotting marine pilings. Using its patent pending design, the highly durable, UV-protected, PVC-based product simply affixes over an existing piling and locks together. Thanks to our innovative Piling Jacket design, there is now a better method of dock piling repair.

What We Use:

The Piling Jacket we use is the toughest and longest lasting option to preserve or repair aging pilings. The design makes it very easy to install, lowering repair costs. By the Piling Jacket we do not have to disassemble any portion of the structure built on top of the piles.

Our products are made from more than 95% recycled plastic and ensure you’ll never need to drive in a wood piling again. These plastic shells will never wear or deteriorate even in the harshest coastal conditions insuring your piles will be long lived.

    Why We Use Piling Jackets:

PVC Is an excellent material to use for piling protection because it does not corrode or decay. Even the oldest PVC created still holds strong with no signs of deterioration. The reason plastic is thought of as being bad for the environment is because it simply won’t break down. This means that litter and trash that make it into landfills and oceans will be around forever, which does pose environmental problems. What makes plastic so harmful is also what makes it so great. If trying to preserve something forever, there is no better material to use. It is extremely durable, and salt-derived chlorine makes up more than half of its chemical composition—making it a far more eco-friendly choice than oil-derived plastics.

When the plastic is done serving its purpose it is 100% recyclable. It lasts longer than plastics like HDPE; this longevity is why we are the only composite piling options that come with a warranty. Plus, by preserving wood pilings for lengthier periods of time, our products ensure that fewer trees need to be cut down for use in marine construction.

    Why Pilings Fail:

The timber pilings used for coastal houses and dock construction are often treated with a protective coating of chromated copper arsenate (CCA). This coating is supposed to help preserve the wood against deterioration from fungal decay, termites, and other wood-boring marine life, but it’s only temporary. The wood gets ravaged by once the coating begins to fade.

This could be offset by a greater application of CCA, but the amount used for the treating of lumber is highly regulated. This is because this chemical preservative will eventually leach off into the water, and it’s important to minimize the ecological impact that CCA has on our waters.
